Episode Overview
"Eat Your Heart Out" (February 28, 1966) - This episode marks the first appearance of Flora Malherbe, who played Goober Pyle's girlfriend and fellow Mayberrian in four of the color episodes.
Flora is the new waitress at the diner in Mayberry who has a crush on Andy Taylor while Goober has a crush on her. Flora's infatuation with Sheriff Taylor complicates his relationship both with Goober and with Helen Crump. More than once, Flora swaps plates to give Andy the better portion, and on one occasion, flirty Flora follows Sheriff Taylor into the woods.
Andy finds himself stuck in the middle between Goober and Flora. To make matters worse, Helen gets jealous of the attention Flora shows Andy. Finally Andy is able to convince Flora that Goober is the fellow for her.
