Plot Summary
Goober Pyle has a crush on the new waitress at the diner, Flora, but she has a crush on Andy Taylor. Flora's infatuation with Sheriff Taylor complicates his relationship both with Goober and with Helen Crump. More than once, Flora swaps plates to give Andy the better portion and on one occasion flirty Flora follows Sheriff Taylor into the woods.
Andy finds himself stuck in the middle between Goober and Flora. To make matters worse, Helen gets jealous of the attention Flora shows Andy. Finally Andy is able to convince Flora that Goober is the man for her.
Odd Facts Known by Few
- This episode marks the first appearance of "Flora Malherbe", who played Goober Pyle's girlfriend in three episodes of "The Andy Griffith Show" and one episode of "Mayberry R.F.D.".
