Plot Summary

Briscoe Darling falls under the impression that Aunt Bee is sweet on him, so he decides to court her with the intentions of making her his bride. When he is finished courting, Briscoe kidnaps Bee and takes her back to the Darling cabin. Andy rescues her by convincing Bee to try to reform Briscoe. Bee's attempt to civilize the Darlings causes Briscoe to call off the engagement.

Odd Facts Known by Few

  • This episode features the only time someone is seen coming out of Nick's Cafe.
  • It also features a rare overhead camera shot from above the china cabinet of 8 people seated around the Taylor table.
  • "Doug's Tune", played by the Darlings and Andy in this episode, was actually written by Eric Dillard and made famous by the Dillards (who portray the Darling boys in the series).
